God was revealed Historically when Jesus came to earth
The person of Jesus Christ provides irrefutable proof for the existance of God.
Historically, if you do your research, you will find that the NIV or equally reliable translations of the bible provide an accurate historical record of the events that occured in and associated with the life of Jesus.
As already pointed out, there can be no substance for god using reason. We use our reason to explain that which we can see, and God remains unseen. God became seen in the man of Jesus Christ, and you can use your reason to seek him out.
If you have doubts about he historical authenticity of the bible, just read "More than a Carpenter" by Josh McDowell, or search for it on the web.
God does exist and you can know him intimatly. This is the good news of the bible.
