ANNOTATION:
Freedom From and Freedom To

One could argue that some constraints imposed
by the whole, such as which side of the road
to drive on, lead to increased freedom for the
individual. A constraint imposed by the metasystem
on an individual could happen frequently in a
society where anyone could drive on whatever side
of the road they wanted to, or park in your driveway
etc.

I think that freedom of the whole will more often
line up with, then constrain, the freedom of the
individual. A key consideration is of course that
safeguards are in place to ensure a transparent
and accountable organizational structure.
