In searching for meaning in life you have omitted the first and formost provider of meaning - God.
We came with an instruction manual, albiet ont that has been tampered with so much as to cloud its true meaning. That manual is, of course, a King James bible.
Unfortunately, that manual has been grossly mis-interpreted to the point that many people are afraid to lend it any crecibility, and refuse to even read it.
That manual tells us who we are, where we cane from, what we are supposed to be doing, and where we are going. Sixty-six books, simply written, dropped by intellectuals because they know better.
Do yourself a favor, read it. Don't be afraid of it, words can't hurt.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I thought as a child, I acted like a child. But when I became a man, I put away childish things. First Corinthians 13.

1. You should define what *you* mean by the word 'meaning'.
> ...instruction manual...tampered...a King James bible.
2. One of the many 'instruction manuals' around.
3. A translation, and thereby an interpretation, of the original
Hebrew and Greek material.

4. And you know the one and only right interpretation??
> That manual tells us who we are, where we cane from,
> what we are supposed to be doing, and where we are going.
5. Those books tell us what a few people some 2-3 thousand
years ago *thought* who they were, where they came from, etc.
You can't blame those people for not having the real-world
knowledge we have. But it's a pity that intelligent people
still take the absolutisms for granted, are caught up in
circular arguments i.e. do not think crittically.

I once started to read it, and yes, tossed it aside for it's a waste of time.
